LSEG makes licensed financial data available to Claude customers

LSEG announced a collaboration with Anthropic that grants Claude customers access to data licensed through LSEG products. The companies also agreed to refer customers to each other, and no financial terms were disclosed.

LONDON, October 27, 2025 LSEG announced a collaboration with Anthropic that gives Claude customers access to data licensed through LSEG products, announced alongside Anthropic's expanded Claude for Financial Services offering.1

Terms of the deal

LSEG's MCP server went live in the Claude MCP partner directory on the day of the announcement. Data from products such as Workspace and Financial Analytics, including AI-ready content and taxonomies going back decades, is reached through the Model Context Protocol in a phased rollout that starts with LSEG Financial Analytics.1

The companies are also embedding mutual lead generation. Claude for Financial Services customers can license LSEG Workspace, and LSEG is working with Workspace customers to secure licensed enterprise access to Claude.1 The release gives no pricing, fees or contract value.

Background

LSEG announced a similar integration with Microsoft in October 2025 and with OpenAI in December 2025. Anthropic's financial services offering also connects to other data providers, including S&P Global.

What it means for data sellers

The structure here is licensed access through a connector, not a bulk transfer for training. For a data owner it means the AI platform becomes a sales channel: customers can buy the data and the AI product together. Sellers should ask what distribution the platform will provide, not just what it will pay.

How the deal came together

  1. A phased connector. LSEG built a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection that exposes its licensed data to Claude, starting with LSEG Financial Analytics.
  2. Existing licenses apply. Customers reach data through products they already license, such as Workspace and Financial Analytics.
  3. Terms kept private. The companies did not disclose pricing or contract terms.
  4. Cross-selling. Claude for Financial Services customers can license LSEG Workspace, and LSEG is working with Workspace customers on licensed enterprise access to Claude.

Takeaways for companies with data

  • The deal pairs data access with mutual lead generation, so a data seller may get distribution as well as fees.
  • Licensed access rides on the buyer's existing subscription, which keeps the seller's pricing intact.
  • Announcement timing matched Anthropic's product launch, a reminder that data partners are often part of a platform launch.
